Photographed on the banks of Saguaro Lake in the Tonto National Forest, near Phoenix, Arizona. The horses are wild and live along the lake and the Salt River. Some say they are descended from the horses brought to America by the Conquistadors.

Grant has enjoyed photography all his life. Starting with a Brownie Starflash in 1960, he graduated to a Canon T70 SLR film camera in 1985. He marveled at the beauty of God's creation -- the Great Lakes, rushing streams, Autumn colors, wild flowers, a gathering storm -- and worked on the craft of capturing these on film. Moving to Arizona and switching to a Canon Rebel XTi digital SLR, he is fascinated with the distinctive beauty of the desert. Grant joined the Phoenix Artists Guild in November, 2011 -- and was juried in to the Arizona Art Alliance in Photography in January, 2012. His work can be seen at the AAA Gallery (azartalliance.com) and in PAG shows (phoenixartistsguild.com.)
